No More Excuses - Get Started Today

I WILL STOP PROCRASTINATING
I recently listened to an episode of the "Expert and Multi-Millionaire Interviews", a podcast hosted by Kris Gilbertson. Her guest was Fran Harris, entrepreneur, author, TV personality, and former WNBA player, and their topic was 'How to Get Booked and Make it on TV'. I'm not sure how this particular episode grabbed my attention, but I'm glad it did because their discussion challenged me to take action and start the projects I've spent the last six months thinking about.

Here's what Fran said when asked about creating a television show, "Start it now. Do not allow the fact that you are bad at it...I was willing to be bad at it until I got good at it. You just got to get it going." Read more »

Sunscreen May Prevent Photoaging

According to new studies, the regular use of sunscreen will not only keep you from getting sunburn and lower your risk of skin cancer, it will also protect against photoaging such as spotting, wrinkles and loss of skin elasticity caused by sun exposure. The study consisted of 900 participants, some of which were instructed to apply sunscreen generously for four years while the others were given no specific instructions. The study confirmed that sunscreen does protect skin from aging. The lead author of the study, Dr. Adele Green said, “skin surface patterns reflect the severity of the sun’s damage to the deeper skin, especially to the elastic fibers and collagen.” More here Read more »

Smoking Increases Colon Cancer Risk

According to a new study, smokers have a lower chance of surviving and being cancer-free years after having colon cancer surgery than non smokers. Researchers have found that 74% of nonsmokers remain cancer-free 3 years after colon cancer surgery while only 70% of smokers remained cancer-free. Experts warn that smoking adds many health risks; the study’s lead author from the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Amanda Phipps said, “I would say as we get further and further away from a colon cancer diagnosis, the impact from smoking is going to get greater.” More here Read more »

Why Does Champagne Bubble?

Before the bubbles, champagne is just wine; it becomes sparkling wine with the addition of the bubbles.

It all starts after the first fermentation of the wine. Then, one of these three methods is used to put the bubbles in the bottles:

1. Méthode Champenoise: Also called méthode traditionelle.

This is the oldest and most time-consuming of the three popular methods of carbonation. If it’s not made in this way and in Champagne,France, it can’t truly be called champagne. Read more »

Same Sex Adoptions

Same Sex Adoptions

According to a 2012 Gallup poll, 3.4% of Americans identify themselves as being lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender. By all standards that is significant portion of the population.
