Green Tea Drinkers Have Lower Rate Of Disability

A study of Japanese adults over the age of 65 found those that drank the most green tea had the lowest rate of functional disability and remained more independent than those who drank less. Adults who drank five cups a day were 33 percent less likely to develop disabilities than those that drank less than a cup of green tea per day. Adults who drank an average of three or four cups a day had a 25 percent lower risk. The study, led by Yasutake Tomata, followed nearly 14,000 people for three years.
