City of Glendale announces February Events!

The following events are offered from the city of Glendale Parks, Recreation and Library Services in February.

Cooking for Diabetics Class
1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr.
Learn to shop, prepare and enjoy one of the world’s healthiest diets.  Also master a few basic cooking skills, learn a few tricks of the trade and start to enjoy cooking in your own kitchen with instruction from Kent McDonald a certified professional chef. Mexican Tamales Class

Just in time for the holiday season, learn to make homemade beef, chicken and sweet tamales.  Participants will make tamales using the traditional masa and a low-fat recipe. Participants will take home 12 tamales.  $20 supply fee will be collected at class.   Spanish available upon request. Fee is $34 (non-Glendale resident $41). Ages 12-18 can get training on safe and fun ways to babysit and care for children. Class covers CPR, first aid, techniques for active children and how to have a successfulbabysitting adventure. Build confidence, self-esteem and skills necessary to care for infants and children on a daily basis and in emergency situations.Bring a sack lunch. Fee is  $63 (non-Glendale resident $76).
