City of Glendale announces February Events!

The following events are offered from the city of Glendale Parks, Recreation and Library Services in February.

Cooking for Diabetics Class
1 to 4 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3 at the Foothills Recreation & Aquatics Center, 5600 W. Union Hills Dr.
Learn to shop, prepare and enjoy one of the world’s healthiest diets.  Also master a few basic cooking skills, learn a few tricks of the trade and start to enjoy cooking in your own kitchen with instruction from Kent McDonald a certified professional chef. Just in time for the holiday season, learn to make homemade beef, chicken and sweet tamales.  Participants will make tamales using the traditional masa and a low-fat recipe. Participants will take home 12 tamales.  $20 supply fee will be collected at class.   Spanish available upon request. Fee is $34 (non-Glendale resident $41). Ages 12-18 can get training on safe and fun ways to babysit and care for children. Class covers CPR, first aid, techniques for active children and how to have a successfulbabysitting adventure. Build confidence, self-esteem and skills necessary to care for infants and children on a daily basis and in emergency situations.Bring a sack lunch. Fee is  $63 (non-Glendale resident $76).
