About ONE Community
Angela Hughey and Sheri Owens co-founded ONE Community in the fall of 2008. The concept of an interactive web and events community came from over a year of research that they compiled on the LGBT community which included the diversity within the community, buying power and how to market to the community.
At ONE Community, we pride ourselves on being cutting edge social entrepreneurs. We are a small business with a big heart.
Three words guide us on a daily basis: Diversity. Inclusion. Equality. Our core beliefs lie in educating, empowering and connecting our LGBT and allied communities.
We believe in creating collaborative partnerships and programs with for profit and non-profit entities and that we must have a multicultural conversation that includes our diverse LGBT community.
- We strive to educate our LGBT and allied communities on the latest news, events and research.
- We love empowering our business members and connecting them with like minded business professionals and to our loyal LGBT consumers.
- We are passionate about connecting individuals and businesses to our diverse and amazing LGBT community and to working collaboratively with for profit and non-profit entities who celebrate diversity.
What is ONE Community?
ONE Community is an interactive web and events community for LGBT and allied individuals and businesses. Social membership is free, business memberships start at just $30 per month. We offer business to business solutions and business to consumer solutions. Our motto is You Vote with Your Wallet Every Day. We encourage business professionals and consumers to support businesses who support the LGBT community and diversity. Check out our business member directory.
For. By. Committed to the Community.
We are for our diverse community because we offer special member discounts and pricing, ONE Community nights, business forums and an extensive gay, lesbian and allied business directory.
We are by our diverse community, with up to the minute local Phoenix and national news, discussion groups and community blogs. What better way to bring our LGBT and Phoenix communities together than to talk about it, whatever it is!
We are committed to the Community. We support our non-profit community partners through events and engagement.
And we are dedicated to creating a stronger relationship with the allied community. It's a basic math equation, really. Whether we are 6-7% or 10% of the overall population, the one thing we aren't is 51%. It is important as a community that we come together to celebrate our uniqueness, diversity, friendships, and those that support us.
We are, after all ONE big community!
